PHOENIX, Ariz. -- It is rare to find many things in aviation that have thrived for more than eighty years. A little over a century has passed since Orville & Wilbur Wright gave birth to powered flight on the sands of Kitty Hawk and many companies have come and gone in the decades since. However, one family-owned business has not only survived, but has thrived and will be celebrating its 80 th anniversary in 2008 with a pledge to grow and expand for many years to come.

Cutter Aviation is proud to kick-off its 80 th anniversary celebration of serving the general and business aviation industry this month. Founded in 1928 by William P. Cutter in Albuquerque, NM, Cutter Aviation has grown past the founders expectations to become one of the best-known aviation brands in the Southwest.

The celebration began in Phoenix, AZ at an open house ceremony held on March 11 th at the company headquarters at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. The rich history of Cutter Aviation was highlighted during the ceremony and Will Cutter, President & CEO, discussed Cutter Aviation’s business philosophy and the bright future of the company. The 80 th Anniversary will conclude with a special celebration at the 2008 NBAA Annual Meeting & Convention taking place this October in Orlando, FL.

In commemoration of the partnership between Cutter Aviation and HondaJet Southwest, a Honda VTX 1300C motorcycle with signature paint scheme resembling the blue, silver and white of the HondaJet was presented at the kick-off. The motorcycle is one of the seven Grand Prizes to be given away as part of the “Fly Cutter…Ride Red” promotion at the 2008 NBAA Convention. One lucky attendee at the convention will win the custom painted Honda 1300C motorcycle and six other winners will each select a Honda Powersport product valued up to $8,000.

The 80 th Anniversary ceremony was topped off with the fantastic unveiling of the specially commissioned artwork that is the symbol of Cutter Aviation’s 80 th Anniversary. “The Aviator”, a custom-designed chopper motorcycle, roared in at the close of the ceremony. Guests had the opportunity to inspect the custom features and artwork on the chopper that highlighted the history of Cutter Aviation and aviation over the past 80 years. “The Aviator” is the latest one-of-a-kind creation by Badland Customs in El Paso, TX and will be featured at select Cutter Aviation locations through October when it will be the focal point of the Cutter Aviation display at the 2008 NBAA Convention.
